ML: What was the initial vision the Peterson family shared with you, and how did you translate that into the final design? SG: The clients envisioned a home that would be both impressive in scale and warm in spirit—a place where they could raise their children in comfort while celebrating the architecture. They were drawn to the use of warm woods to balance the soaring ceiling heights, and they wanted the breathtaking views to serve as a focal point, all within a space that feels thoughtfully layered and inviting. ML: IG Workshop is known for its curated use of natural materials—how did you incorporate elements like wood and stone to achieve warmth while keeping the home modern? RV: We created a cohesive palette by layering wood, stone, steel, and bronze glass throughout the home, ensuring every space felt connected. The warmth of the wood balances the grandeur of the stone, while the bronze introduces a subtle sophistication. Together, these materials strike a harmony between modern elegance and inviting comfort.
