Culinary Destination Nour Restaurant Norrlandsgatan 24 Stockholm, 111 43 (3rd Floor) Sweden +46 73 325 64 76 www.restaurantnour.se By Markin Abras, Photos/Nour Restaurant For a truly unique dining experience in Stockholm, book a table at Nour, located on the third floor of an unassuming townhouse. Stepping inside feels like entering someone’s home, with an intimate, chic, yet relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has just seven tables spread across three private rooms, supported by a highly knowledgeable and quite friendly staff. The décor is beautifully minimalist, featuring clean, contemporary art works and simple furnishings. Run by Chef Sayan Isaksson, Nour is named after his daughter. Born in Thailand and adopted by Swedish parents, Sayan has built a successful culinary career firmly rooted in Sweden and gained international recognition through his work with the Swedish national culinary team. Nour’s cuisine combines Nordic ingredients with Japanese influences, sourcing high-quality produce from select Nordic suppliers. The menu is built on deep umami flavors—the rich, savory “fifth taste”—achieved through house-made staples like dashi, koji, miso, fish sauce, and unique ferments such as smen and meatso, all crafted with local ingredients and traditional techniques. Charcoal grilling is central to the cooking, enhanced by bold condiments like Nour XO. Expect dishes featuring sustainable caviar, wild duck, and Gotland black truffle, with layers of flavor from fermentation, miso, vinegar, and koji. Choose between a 5-course tasting menu (about $225) or an 8-course option (about $261), with fine wine pairings available for $169 (5-course) and $240 (8-course). Standard pairings cost $112 and $178, while non-alcoholic pairings are $73 and $111. A wide selection of beverages is also offered, including wine, beer, cocktails, juices, and teas. Reservations are essential and can be made up to three months in advance, as Nour seats only seven tables. The restaurant is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. For private groups, a separate private room accommodates up to 11 guests, offering both 5- and 8-course menus with optional wine or non-alcoholic pairings.
