The artistic aspect of the journal, featuring coloring affirmations, allows you to rediscover the joy of screen-free play, reminiscent of childhood. It’s a fun and creative way to unwind while keeping your hands physically busy—making it nearly impossible to drift into tapping a different app on your phone and suddenly finding yourself 20 minutes deep into a doom scroll. Instead, it encourages you to stay present and engaged in the moment. ML: What feedback have you received from readers so far, and how has their response shaped your vision for future projects? We’ve received such positive feedback on the journal, which confirms that when you create something you’re passionate about and genuinely want for yourself, others will follow! So far, we’ve heard from several licensed mental health professionals who are recommending this product to their patients, as they find it makes self-care accessible and serves as an excellent tool to relieve stress, soothe the mind, and calm the body. We’ve also heard from many people who have always felt intimidated by journaling but have found this journal fun and approachable. That’s what has kept them coming back for more and finally building a lasting journaling practice—which is my dream for everyone! The feedback that has had the biggest impact on our vision for future projects has been the countless images we’ve received of people coloring while their kids join in alongside them. Although this edition is designed specifically for adults, we’re excited about the possibility of creating future versions tailored for kids and teens as well! ML: With a growing audience across social media and your podcast, how do you leverage these platforms to promote mental wellness and connect with your community? My goal over the past five-plus years on the internet has been to remind people that, no matter what they are feeling, they are not alone, and to help others feel seen. While our individual life experiences may differ, there are many shared emotions and underlying connections that we can all relate to if we allow ourselves to be authentically open. With this in mind, I aim to share the realities of my mental health struggles and, most importantly, what has helped me navigate them. As I work toward cultivating a healthy and happy body and mind, I share my everyday ups and downs, along with tips and strategies, in the hope of supporting anyone else who may be going through something similar.
