More on Hubert Hurkacz Hubert Hurkacz, born on February 11, 1997, in Wrocław, Poland, stands at 6’5” (1.96 m) and is known for his powerful serve, often exceeding 140 mph. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 6 on August 5, 2024, making him the highest-ranked Polish man in ATP singles history. Over the years, Hurkacz has secured eight ATP Tour singles titles, including the 2021 Miami Open and the 2023 Shanghai Masters. His best Grand Slam performance came at Wimbledon in 2021, where he reached the semifinals and famously defeated Roger Federer in straight sets in the quarterfinals. In April 2024, he won his first clay-court title at the Estoril Open, becoming the first Polish man since 1981 to claim a main tour title on clay. In November 2024, Hurkacz announced a major addition to his coaching team, bringing in eight-time Grand Slam champion Ivan Lendl and former Olympic gold medalist Nicolás Massú, aiming to elevate his performance for the upcoming season.
