Miami Living: What has changed in your game since you last played here in Miami? Novak Djokovic: I don’t think anything significant has changed in my game. I’m always trying to improve little things by small percentages, aiming to be better than I was yesterday or the previous week. It’s important to maintain a mindset of continuously wanting to perfect my game, because otherwise, I’ll be playing catch-up with all the other players. Miami Living: How would you assess your performance so far this year? Djokovic: I had a very good preparation before the season started, and I think I played some great matches in Australia. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, but I’m trying to shorten up my points a little more and be more aggressive when I have a shorter ball. As you get older, you lose a bit of speed, but I believe I can still play at a high level overall. Miami Living: On a more personal note, sleep plays a big role in tennis performance. Where do you sleep best? Djokovic: Well, I have several homes because I’m constantly moving, even when I’m not playing tournaments. I travel with my family, so I have a few beds that are my favorites. But I don’t spend as much time in my primary home as I would like to. You never really get used to sleeping in hotels, but that’s part of a tennis player’s life.
