Miami Living (ML): Shana, can you share a bit more about your background and what brought you and your husband Dan to Miami? Shana: Dan and I are both originally from Paris, where we grew up. I worked in my father’s art gallery, while Dan pursued his studies at a prestigious design and architecture school. After graduating, he joined me at the gallery, and we quickly became a dynamic team—both professionally and as a couple. When we got married and started a family, we realized we wanted to give our children a unique opportunity we didn’t have ourselves: the chance to experience life in a different part of the world. Miami became the clear choice for us and it’s been a decision we’ve cherished ever since. ML: What inspired you both to start Dasha, and how did it evolve from an idea into a brand? Shana: We decided to start Dasha after spending a few years in Miami. By then, we had three wonderful children, and balancing motherhood with a traditional work schedule became increasingly challenging. I wanted to create something that combined my passion for art while still allowing me the flexibility to be present for my family. Returning to work in a gallery wasn’t practical because of the demanding office hours. Dan and I have always been drawn to meaningful symbols like the eye and the Hamsa, which have been part of our family traditions since childhood. Our North African heritage ingrained in us the belief that these symbols offer protection and inspire positivity. When we began exploring the idea of creating exclusive sculptures, we noticed that these symbols weren’t always celebrated in the way we envisioned. With
