This follows Gucci’s London showcase by Sabato De Sarno and Dior’s Scottish-inspired collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Dossena’s approach for Rabanne is rooted in his admiration for the eclecticism of British fashion. Rather than physically traveling, he immersed himself in the spirit of British style, capturing his look book with a Scottish lake backdrop. He was drawn to the “freedom” and “cultural identity” of English fashion, contrasting it with the more cohesive, less dynamic French style. The collection explores a fusion of British thrift-store influences from the 1980s and early 1990s, incorporating elements of techno music and New Wave. This theme naturally builds on Dossena’s previous runway collection, which was inspired by New York’s club and downtown scene. Rabanne RESORT 2025 features a blend of casual and party wear. Highlights include a chunky mustard-yellow tartan coat over a glittery animal-print top and jeans, and a traditional granny cardigan layered over a deconstructed shirt-dress. The collection also nods to Scottish patterns with silvery paillettes reminiscent of argyle sweaters and a fringed paisley dress evoking a girl’s makeshift creation from family scarves.
