The inaugural RacquetX event drew pro players and fans alike to the Miami Convention Center from March 24th to 26th. “Our research indicates that today’s players love to engage in multiple racquet sports, so we decided to bring all those sports together -- for the first time, in a spirit of learning, celebration, and innovation,” said Robyn Duda, Co-Founder of RacquetX. The event was located next to the 2024 Chase APP Miami Pickleball Open at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and the organizations collaborated on special ticket deals. Among the highlights of the three days were: • Nine custom courts, built specifically for RacquetX by its sponsors and partners. Among the on-court activities were cardio tennis, kids games, yoga, and the National Padel League’s (NPL’s) tournament where padel clubs competed against each other. • A fashion display, featuring women- and minority-owned apparel showcased national and local Miami designers. Major brands like Adidas were also involved, and Original Penguin sponsored a fashion shoot with social media influencers. RacquetX team members rocked RacquetX branded merchandise, which is now available for sale online. • Cutting-edge technologies that offered AI-assisted coaching, ways to find places and partners for game play, scorekeeping, and more. • VIP events at the Miami Open and the exclusive Reserve padel club. • New research about the industry, confirming that todays’ racquet sports player participates in multiple sports and brands have opportunities for building relationships and sales across a number of categories. • Presentations by 75+ industry leaders, including Katrina Adams, former President of the USTA, who reinforced the need for “love” of all sports and industry diversity and inclusion. Other topics included the investment climate for racquet sports, how brands can build fan loyalty (led by executives from the Heat and the Marlins), new technologies for game play, and ways that clubs can attract and retain members.
