More on Sinner Italian tennis prodigy Jannik Sinner, born in 2001, started in South Tyrol, excelling in skiing, football, and tennis. At 13, he focused solely on tennis, training under coach Riccardo Piatti. Despite modest junior achievements, he quickly rose to prominence, securing multiple ATP Challenger Tour titles by age 17. Sinner rapidly ascended in the tennis realm, achieving a career-high ATP ranking of No. 4, matching Italy’s legendary Adriano Panatta. In 2020, Sinner claimed his maiden ATP title, entering the top 40 after notable victories against David Goffin and Stefanos Tsitsipas. By 2021, he clinched four titles, a Masters 1000 final, and a top 10 debut. In 2022, he reached three major quarterfinals and seized his first clay court title. The following year marked a significant milestone with his first Masters 1000 win at the 2023 Canadian Open. 2024 witnessed Sinner’s grand moment as he secured his first major title at the Australian Open, defeating Novak Djokovic in the semifinals and Daniil Medvedev in the final. Residing in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Sinner is an avid A.C. Milan supporter. His tennis icons include compatriot Andreas Seppi, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. Raised in a German-speaking household, he honed his Italian upon moving to Bordighera. Fluent in English, Sinner is known for his healthy lifestyle and love for cars. By ML Staff.
