New York City based artist, Julia Rivera, demonstrates the meticulous treatment of a seamstress, a surgical nurse, an art restorer… because she has been all three. Using mixed media, she draws from her life skills. Having studied classical 17th century painting in Florence and at the Parisian Beaux-Arts, to the jungles of her native Puerto Rico, she infuses her work with textures that reveal the mounting of time and experience that allows for a vibrant oeuvre.
