Chefs and cheese-savvy consumers are crazy about this cheese, while some cheese lovers are still discovering its goodness. Burrata originated in Italy and was created in the 1920s as a regional delicacy. In the 1950s, when more cheese factories began producing it, cheese was more readily available in other parts of Italy. Since 2007, BelGioioso has crafted Burrata from their plants in Wisconsin. Starting with an 8 oz. ball, then offering 4 oz. and 2 oz. versions, quickly expanded into Black Truffle flavored Burrata and now new Stracciatella Burrata Filling in a cup, available to Burrata-loving fans everywhere.
