“It’s great to know that I don’t have to sacrifice any bugs to wear lipstick,” says Moore. “I appreciate a brand that’s making an effort to do better for our world, and I love that this campaign brings together personal empowerment and animal rights,” adds Moore. Renowned photographer Ben Hasset captured Moore and a group of powerful women, including Yovanna Ventura, Tatiana Rigsby, and Soukeyna Diouf, for the campaign. The creative process emphasizes Hourglass’ commitment to animal welfare and vegan, cruelty-free lipstick. “We’re providing a platform for these inspiring women to share their stories and inspire others to make a statement,” says Moore. “With just this small choice of lipstick, we have the power to make a change. I’m thrilled to be a part of this important message and to offer a product that’s not only gorgeous and high-performing, but also kind to animals and the planet,” concludes Moore. Featuring 21 high-impact shades and a nourishing formula, Hourglass Cosmetics’ new lipstick comes in a sleek, gold magnetic case embossed with the “Unlocked” symbol, representing Hourglass’ partnership with the Nonhuman Rights Project. The brand donates 5% of its annual profits to the organization, which works to secure basic rights for animals. With Hourglass Cosmetics leading the way, the beauty industry is entering a new era, where innovative and vegan-friendly products are not only possible, but also necessary. With Julianne Moore at the forefront and a team of strong women behind her, Hourglass is unlocking a brighter, kinder future for both animals and the planet. Hourglass Cosmetics will make donations to United to Beat Malaria, the world’s largest grassroots movement fighting to end Malaria. - Soukeyna’s passion for global health started as a child and was reinforced when she contracted Malaria in her home country of Senegal. Although fortunate enough to get treatment, it was very common that many lacked funding and resources to combat and prevent the disease. Despite the modeling world knocking at her door, her experience motivated her focus to pre-med at Howard University in Washington D.C., while volunteering with Malaria patients in Senegal without health insurance. Soukeyna has since devoted her platform to raising awareness, resources, and funding around Malaria prevention and other global health issues.
