The Sylvester Address: 3456 N. Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127 Phone: 305-814-4548 Website: www.thesylvesterbar.com Reason to Stop By: The Sylvester, a vintage, eclectic cocktail and coffee bar, has opened up shop in the heart of Midtown. The cocktailery serves fun bites influenced by Miami culture and coffee from local roaster, Great Circle Coffee, before turning into a cocktail bar with an elevated menu in the evening. The menu pays homage to both new and old Miami and uses next-level techniques, promised to be never-before experienced in Miami. Evening cocktails range from local favorites to mushroom tea and cocoa, CBD upgrades for beverages and after-dinner sweets from Pastry Chef John Maielli. The tropical-retro space is decked out in colorful, vintage wallpaper and adorned with antique furniture. Hang out awhile and play some games; they have billiards, foosball, and board games. Tigertail + Mary Address: 3321 Mary Street, Miami, FL 33133 Phone: 305-722-5688 Website: tigertailandmary.com Reason to Stop By: Tigertail + Mary, the new neighborhood retreat for traditional American cooking opened by James Beard award-winning chef Michael Schwartz, touts a menu with fresh ingredients, including fresh vegetables, thoughtfully-sourced protein, like local meats and seafood, as well as a refreshing cocktail program from BarLab (The Broken Shaker, The Anderson). The restaurant exudes an easy energy with a textured tropical landscape, with Biscayne bay breezes, marina sails and palms dotting the coastline in the background. Tigertail + Mary also serves brunch and lunch. The cafe is open for breakfast, including coffee and bakery items, as well as grab-and-go sandwiches and drinks. Via Emilia Garden Address: 3500 N. Miami Avenue, Miami, FL 33127 Phone: 786-216-7150 Website: https://viaemilia9.com/via-emilia-9-garden.html Reason to Stop By: Via Emilia 9 in South Beach has a sister! Chef Wendy Cacciatori and wife Valentina Imbrenda have opened Via Emilia Garden in Midtown Miami. The new restaurant will share the same menu and specials with Via Emilia 9, but feature a more upscale atmosphere. The 2,000-square-foot eatery includes a modern dining room with wooden tables, custom-made white chairs, and garden trees sprinkled throughout the space. There is an open kitchen with a butcher area, where guests can choose their cuts of meat, as well as a pasta-making station with hand-rolled options. Expect authentic Italian ingredients as Chef Wendy imports almost everything served from Italy --including their bread, which is brought in from the Vasalli Bakery in Ferrara, Italy. Ember Address: 151 NE 41st St., Unit 117, Miami, FL 33137 Phone: 786-334-6494 Website: www.embermiami.com Reason to Stop By: Located inside Paradise Plaza, Chef Brad Kilgore's restaurant Ember serves up wood-fired American dishes in Miami's Design District. Chef Kilgore, alongside Chef de Cuisine Nick Graves, has created a flavorful spin for this menu, featuring smoke-laden meats, pastas, and shareable sides. Art Deco inspires the 3,200-square-foot indoor/outdoor space designed by Mark Diaz from MAD Design. Ember opens for dinner at 6:30 pm, and the bar opens at 6 pm; brunch and lunch will be served in the near future.
