Cycle for Survival Miami Riders Advance Rare Cancer Research Cycle for Survival, the movement to beat rare cancers, returned to Miami this March for its signature indoor team cycling rides at Equinox Coral Gables. Participants and supporters raised funds for rare cancer research, while instructors from Equinox, Cycle for Survival's founding partner, lead riders throughout the day. 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to groundbreaking research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering, which owns and operates Cycle for Survival, to change the way cancer is diagnosed and treated. This is the sixth consecutive year that a Cycle for Survival event has taken place in Miami. Rare cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, MSK doctors, Equinox instructors and other members of this community participated in high-energy rides that featured heart-pumping music, cheering, and dancing. Participants shared inspirational personal stories throughout the day, and MSK doctors announced medical breakthroughs made possible by Cycle for Survival. More than 34,000 participants and 230,000 donors united for Cycle for Survival's signature events taking place in 16 cities across the country in January, February, and March. About half of all cancer patients are fighting rare cancers, which include all thyroid, brain, ovarian, pancreatic, and pediatric cancers, as well as many others. Cycle for Survival has raised more than $175 million for rare cancer research since it was founded in 2007, with $145 million raised in the past five years —making it the fastest-growing athletic fundraising event in the country.*
