FASHION Jewels by Tricia shines with the help of fashionista Farrah Kisel FASHION GEM Words by Vanessa Pascale • Photo Credits: Photographer-Hadriel Gonzalez (www.hadrielgonzalez.com) Makeup Artist- Alejandra Hernandez • Hair by Anita Hawke for the david K space South Florida local, Farrah Kisel is up to her ears in jewels — Jewels by Tricia. The fashion forward beauty is not only the model for the striking jewelry line, Jewels by Tricia, but enthusiastically endorses it too. Boasting chunky, bold baubles and delicate hand- crafted bracelets, necklaces and earrings, in silver and gold, Jewels by Tricia is being worn by women in Palm Beach, abroad and celebs like Jennifer Lopez. In fact, the dazzling pieces caught Farrah's eye, which is the reason she wanted to assist in building the brand. "I was working on the Rally for Kids with Cancer charity as the co-chair, standing in for my mom (public relations extraordinaire Gloria Kisel-Hollis) as honorary chair in Palm Beach. I met this lady and she was wearing the jewelry. I complimented her on it and she said it was her best friend's jewelry company. She took off a few of the pieces and gave them to me. I started wearing them and getting such great feedback that I wanted to develop the business," she explains. The Brazilian jewelry designer, Tricia Milaneze, has been producing her line for a few years now and is receiving acclaim for it. "People are fascinated with the pieces because they're so unique and can be worn by all ages. Older women love it because they feel they get more compliments than when they wear they're real jewelry. It's the kind of jewelry that can dress any outfit up and go from day to night. It's classy. You can wear it with jeans and a T-shirt, a little black dress. It really goes with anything," raves Farrah about the jewels that range from $85-$400. "Something that was word of mouth in Palm Beach, and popular in Europe, I've brought to L.A — and I just got it into ELLE Mexico (July 2011 issue)." Well-versed in fashion and its trends, Farrah has worked in the industry since she was 18-years-old, from being the youngest associate at Fred Segal for three years to assisting a friend in opening a boutique that she managed, to being a buyer / manager at Blonde LA, then managing at Herve Leger. "I've had an array of 50 MIAMI LIVING success in the fashion industry with sales, marketing, public relations," says Farrah. Experience such as hers has benefited the line in helping it achieve new heights. In addition to being the face of Jewels by Tricia, Farrah is the U.S. distributor and handles their marketing, public relations and trunk shows. "We did a fashion show at The Ritz-Carlton for LLS (The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). They put our jewelry in the show," she shares. Her tenacity has not gone unrecognized. "I just received Palm Beach Woman Achiever for the jewelry company," she mentions. "They picked ten women and I was chosen as one of the ten." Hard at work promoting the jewelry line, Farrah balances that with her modeling and acting pursuits. Currently in Los Angeles on "a couple of callbacks," she's happy to get back into the swing of things. "I'm working on some projects that I booked and am on hold for a few. Last week, I booked this show Gene Simmons is an executive producer on, Dessault Inc., it airs in Canada on Bio and has 73 million viewers. I may be reoccurring on it. I'm also auditioning for a lot of big shows that are up now," says the enthusiastic thespian, who attended the Beverly Hills Playhouse Acting School for 5 years. Back and forth between Florida and California, Farrah put her commercial work on hold when she returned to Florida, where she's been until recently. Since coming back to Los Angeles, things are looking promising. "I just signed an exclusive with an agent here. I've been really openly received since I've been back the last three weeks. I think things will definitely look up," she beams.
